WBE PTA recently purchased new books for the WBE AIA school library to make its collection more racially equitable and inclusive.
The books were just delivered to our librarians and will be available for students to check-out soon! Many of the books represent BIPOC viewpoints, and/or were authored by BIPOC, and the books were purchased locally, from black-owned business: Black Pearl Bookstore. LGBTQ+ viewpoints and differing abilities are also represented. WBE PTA plans to make subsequent equity and inclusion book purchases, and seeks input from our community on great books to consider.
