RRISD receives preliminary boundary change recommendations

In anticipation of the new elementary school opening in Wells Branch (ES No. 34 – opening Fall 2016), RRISD has begun the process of redrawing the attendance boundaries for Wells Branch and Bluebonnet.  On Thursday, Oct 15 the RRISD Board heard preliminary recommendations from the contracted demographics consulting firm.

The RRISD Boundary Presentation (1) includes the Boundary Change Guidelines, Current Boundary Maps and demographic data, and proposed changes.

Included in the boundary change process are 2 public hearings, on November 5th and 10th (usually in the evening).  Locations for each date will be announced Oct 29th (one will be at WBE, the other at Bluebonnet) and we will relay the information here and on our Facebook Page. For now, please read the information and save these dates.

Wells Branch PTA encourages all WBE families to be informed and involved in this very important input portion of the process. If you have concerns or ideas about where your child will attend Elementary, Middle and High School – the public hearings are your opportunity to be heard.  After the public hearings, the consulting firm will make their final recommendations to the board at the Nov 19 RRISD board meeting. The Board will take action to change the boundaries at the Dec 17 Board Meeting.
