Happy Holidays! There’s quite a few things that will be coming up this month, and I wanted to make sure you are in the loop.
December Meeting – Holiday Performance
This coming Tuesday, we have the awesome opportunity to hear our 4th and 5th graders perform in the cafeteria at 6:30 pm! You can RSVP on Facebook here, or find details on the PTA calendar.
After judging the Reflections entries at WBE, two students had their artwork advanced to the Council level to compete against other students in our area. Caleb Wilcox’s Law of the Sphinx visual arts entry advanced to Council, as well as three works by Faith Larimore: Colorful Imaginings in visual arts, and two photography entries, Inspirational Beauty and Simply Smile. Faith received the Award of Excellence for two of her works, and the Award of Merit for the other. She will be recognized at the Council Reflections Award Ceremony in February. WBE will hold its own awards ceremony in March, where all the student participants will be recognized, and the student artworks will be on display. Congratulations to our winners and participants!
Each year during the holiday season, our PTA puts on a fun program for our students to purchase gifts for their family and also to learn some great economics lessons. Our Holiday Shoppe will run December 15th through 17th during the day, and Blythe Gander could use some volunteer help! Email her directly at firstname.lastname@example.org or go to http://tinyurl.com/WBEgive3 to sign up to help.
Austin Area Summer Camp Fair
Last spring, WBE hosted a summer camp fair. Rather than independently host our own, we wanted to let you know that the city of Austin is hosting a fair on January 24th. You can find more information here!
